New Utility Customers
WELCOME TO KOSCIUSKO. The Kosciusko Water and Light Plant pledges to provide to you the highest quality electric and water service.
First time customers are requested to come in and sign an order for utility service, establish their identity, and put up a deposit. We know it can be inconvenient for you to come to our office to request utility service. However, we want to protect you from anyone gaining service through the illegal use of your name. Deposits are required for the protection of all our customers. We believe the person(s) requesting and using the service should be responsible for payment. All deposits will be returned to you after termination of your service and payment of your final bill.
Once your satisfactory credit score is well established, we will be glad to provide your payment history to any utility area where you choose to live in the future.
Because we don’t yet know you, to obtain service you will need to:
1. Personally come to the KWL office at 204 West Jefferson Street to complete an order for utility service.
2. Present at least one (1) personal identification card, which may be a driver’s license or state issued personal ID card and carries your physical description, your picture, and your signature.
3. Present your Social Security card, and record with us your Social Security number.
4. Present your rental receipt or a copy of your lease if you are renting. Present a deed or loan papers, etc. to show ownership if you are a homeowner.
5. Pay the appropriate deposit according to the following schedule.
Residential Deposits
Rental: Home Owner
Electric & Water $250.00 Electric& Water $125.00
Water Only $80.00 Water Only $80.00
In addition to the above deposit, all accounts require a $10.00 non-refundable connection fee, due at the time the order is given.
Note: If the requested water only service location has a meter larger than ¾ “, the above water only deposits will increase according to meter size.
