Mayor Jimmy Cockroft
Jimmy Cockroft is currently serving his fourth term as Mayor of Kosciusko. He was elected as Alderman-at-Large in July 1993 before being elected Mayor in 1997.
Jimmy is a member of First Baptist Church and is a part of the Television Ministry and serves as a Deacon. He is a member and past president of the Kosciusko Lions Club. Jimmy has been active in youth sports in Kosciusko such as Dixie Youth Baseball, Flag Football and the Kosciusko Athletic Booster Club.
In his duties as Mayor he is a member of the Mississippi Municipal League serving on the Board of Directors and a member of the Bylaws committee. He has previously served on the Election Committee and as Chairman of the Utilities Committee. He also serves on the Mississippi Municipal Service Company Board of Directors and is a founding member and past Chairman of the East Central Mississippi Mayors Association. One of the things Jimmy enjoys most is his involvement with the Kosciusko Mayors Youth Council which this year has grown to 60 members!!
Jimmy and his wife Linda are the proud parents of Mary Margaret a CPA with Thompson Dunavant in Memphis and Sam, a junior at Mississippi State University.
