Hart Pettit was appointed City Clerk by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen in 2008. Prior to serving as City Clerk, he worked for AutoZone, Inc. in Memphis, TN as a Senior Financial Analyst.
Hart is a member of the First United Methodist Church and serves as Treasurer and a member of the Church Finance Committee. He is also a board member and Treasurer/Secretary of the Kosciusko Country Club. As a member of the 2009-2010 Leadership Attala class, he helped found the Attala County Farmers Market and is currently a board member for the market.
Kosciusko was home to Hart before he became City Clerk. He grew up here and attended Kosciusko public schools, graduating in 1999. Next, Hart received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mississippi while triple-majoring in Real Estate, Economics and Banking & Finance. Hart then received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi before moving to Memphis to work for AutoZone, Inc. Hart and his wife, Whitney, returned to Kosciusko to start a family in 2008 and are blessed to be the parents of Tanner Pettit.
