Kosciusko and Attala County have a history of excellence in education, in both academics and vocational training. Kosciusko has some of the finest school districts in the state, rating a 5.0 on a scale of 5.0. The Kosciusko School District is one of only five districts to exceed the national average on college ACT scores and ranks as one of the top districts in the state based on SAT scores.

Attala County is composed of two public school districts - the Attala County School District and the Kosciusko School District - both of which rank among the state's best. Each district has state-of-the-art Tech Prep labs containing workstations with CD-ROM and World Wide Web access.

Numerous opportunities are available for continuing education classes. The Attala Education Center, a satellite center of Holmes Community College, offers day and night classes. Magnolia Bible College is fully accredited and offers a number of general education courses as well as Bachelor of Arts degrees in Bible and Theology. The Kosciusko-Attala Vocational-Technical Center also conducts night courses in business, trades, and technologies.

Educational innovation and volunteerism are two of our finest traits. The LEAP (Learning Enhancement and Achievement Program) Center, staffed by volunteers and certified teachers, provides free tutoring and support for students in grades K-12. The Sumner Foundation, privately funded for the past 20 years, supports higher education by offering scholarship opportunities to area residents. The Leadership Attala Program, sponsored by the Kosciusko-Attala Chamber of Commerce, trains young adults to take their place in the community as leaders.
