Northside Park - Lewis Slater Way (off 4th Ave)

Northside Park is also know as the Ashord-Presley-Stingley Park in honor of those families that took so much time with the young people in the neighborhood. This park offers three baseball/softball fields, walking track, basketball courts and a concession stand/pavilion. The pavilion is available to the public to rent for special occasions. The Board of Aldermen voted recently to name the street leading to this park "Lewis Slater Way" in honor of former teacher and Coach Lewis Slater who spent many summers overseeing the baseball program at Northside Park. Coach Slater passed away on October 20, 2010 at the age of 81.
